The Architecture Consists of:

1. Energy meter: Energy meters measure the rapid voltage and currents, calculate their product and give instantaneous power. Here we will be using Energy meter with Modbus Communication. And the energy meter can measure the following parameters: voltage, active power, apparent power, current, power factor, reactive power, Active energy, phase angle and so on. Through Modbus Communication we can send the Data to IoT Gateway.
2. IoT Gateway: IoT Gateway is a physical device or software program that serves as the connection point between the cloud and controllers, sensors and intelligent devices. Energy meters are connected to the Gateway using Modbus Communication to transfer the Data to the Cloud. For transferring Data to the cloud, we use MQTT/HTTP/FTP protocol.
3. Cloud: Cloud is a infrastructure which is needed for processing and storing data, whether in real time or not. Here we can create dashboards and do the cloud computing in real time and showcase the data. It is a customizable platform where we can analyze the data to know the consumption, savings and decision making.
